Fredrick Peters Ph.D. ACSM-EP
Founder
Dr. Fredrick Peters started The Fitness Doctor after earning his PhD in Exercise Physiology. His decision to go into business was prompted by his desire to help clients by offering a medical approach to personal training (an industry that is completely unregulated). Dr. Peters saw this "knowledge gap" in his own personal experience as an avid fitness enthusiast.

He believes personal training should be prescribed to the individual and should not be a "one-size fits all approach". Furthermore, he strongly believes that this exercise prescription should be given by a qualified healthcare professional.
Dr. Peters serves as a consultant for several organizations including: the Cleveland Clinic, the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, the Centers for Families and Children, and Heinen's Fine Foods (among others).

Dr. Peters was voted Top Personal Trainer in Northeast Ohio by the Cleveland Hotlist. He possesses multiple certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine. He has been an expert guest for dozens of organizations including WKYC Channel 3, WJW Fox 8, and the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Peters has been recognized by Cleveland Magazine, the Plain Dealer, and Crain's Cleveland (just to name a few).

Dr. Peters is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Physiological Society. He serves as an advisory member on multiple boards and has been published in multiple journals. He also serves on numerous panels including the ACSM Health & Fitness Journal and the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Sports Medicine program.

In addition to The Fitness Doctor, Dr. Peters is an advisor, consultant, and professor of Applied Exercise Science.
